Common Questions About Our Pilates Studio

Discover answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our services, classes, and membership options at Broken Chains Pilates.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a system of exercises that focus on the mind and the body working together. It is known to help relieve tension in the body, boost the body’s natural fat burning ability, and promotes mindfulness. It is also a great way to prevent injury in the body.

I’ve never used a reformer before. What can I expect?

Don’t let the machine intimidate you. At Broken Chains Pilates, all levels are welcome as we can accommodate all fitness levels. Each exercise we teach can be modified to reduce or increase intensity, so we meet everyone where they are and give them what they need.

If you are a beginner that is just getting back into a fitness routine, we offer private sessions and a beginner class that focuses on the fundamentals.

What if I had any surgeries or major injuries?

Please notify your instructor of any physical limitations or injuries. If you have physical limitations and cleared with your doctor to exercise, it is recommended to take a private session first so that we can assess your fitness level and best prepare you for group classes.

Are grip socks required?

For safety and hygiene purposes, we recommend that grip socks be worn during class.  You can find them for purchase at the studio for $15 or online, and at many fitness retailers.

Where do I park?

Parking is available on a first come, first serve basis directly in front and surrounding the studio.

Do you have lockers or storage?

There is limited storage available inside the studio. Please try and leave valuables at home.

What time should I arrive?
